I am a 21 year old graduate. I studied BSc Animal Management and graduated with a 1st division in second class honours. I have travelled to South Africa and studied at Moholoholo Mountain View, I did a Ranger course there where I learned many tree names, their uses and how to identify them. I learnt basic tracking skills and helped out with live game capture and de-horning Rhino for purposes to reduce poaching. I did a day courseĀ in reptiles from identfying venomous South African snakes to understanding bites and how to treat them before anti-venom is administered. I learnt about the necessities of creating reserves that can make money and the minimum requirements for reserves for example fencing regulations and exemption permits.
I am currently seeking a job in conservation throughout the UK and South Africa. I will doing a presentation on South African conservation-talking about Elephant over-population in south africa, the reason reserves are established and rhino poaching. I am very passionate about animals, in all senses of the word from conservation to behaviour and their treatment within human society.
I have had many animals myself in the past which have included 3 cats (two of which are still alive at well), 3 rabbits (one is still hopping about), and 2 guinea pigs. All of the animals that have passed have passed due to old age. One of the guinea pigs lived until she was 10 years old, the other until she was 7 1/2 years old.
